Balázs Vradi

Balázs Váradi PhD (Yale) is an economist and policy analyst. His main research interests are public policy analysis in general, social and labour policy, and the public policy of education and healthcare.

Balázs has been a founding partner and senior researcher at the Budapest Institute for Policy Analysis and a research associate at ELTE University (Hungary) since 2008, where he has participated in and managed several social policy- education- and labour market related projects.

As senior advisor to the prime minister of Hungary, he contributed to the formulation of policy interventions in education, social and employment policy (2007 –2008). Among other topics, he has worked on social transfers, disability policy and the political economy of the welfare state.
