WG4: Developing a Standardisation Framework on Skills

Under the umbrella of The European Family Support Network, WG4 ("Skilful group") is in charge to collect data,  discuss and agree on the skills qualification for family support workforce. Knowledge of those skills are essential for a quality performance when attending families.

The group brings together experienced and young researchers from number of European countries along with several stakeholder representatives from organizations of family support professionals. WG4 leader is Prof dr Nevenka Zegarac from University of Belgrade, and co-leader is dr Theodora Ene from University of Bucharest.

The main aim of WG4 is to develop a common framework for standardization of family support workforce skills, which can provide the basis for the enhancement, harmonization and consistency of competencies of family support professionals and paraprofessionals across Europe.

To achieve that aim, WG4 has the tasks to:

    1. Identify the international agencies on skills qualification and integrate their results.
    2. Perform a full-scoped review of existing studies on skills standards for workforce in family support.
    3. Conduct a cross-national study on skills standards from practitioners’ point of view.
    4. Agree on the set of skills qualification for workforce in family support required for a quality performance when attending families.

During the COST Action, WG4 will deliver:

    1. Research paper on skills standards.
    2. A catalogue of skills standards.
    3. Policy report on skills standards.
    4. A training school on developing a standardisation framework on skills.
    5. Workshop with stakeholders on developing a standardisation framework on skills.

The Action foresee two Short-Term Scientific Missions in WG4, which will foster the mobility of senior researchers in ITC and the NNC country, and European / International Organizations.
