About
I am Professor of Intercultural Communication and Head of the Communication Management Master’s programme at Tallinn University Baltic Film, Media and Arts School (Tallinn, Estonia).
I work on the intergenerational transmission of Estonian and other languages in interethnic (or transnational) families.
Following King et al. (2008), by family language policy I mean an integrated approach to how languages are managed, learned and negotiated within individual families. I focus on family language policy, language choice at home, and engagement with available linguistic resources (Soler and Zabrodskaja 2017; Karpava, Ringblom and Zabrodskaja 2018, 2020, 2022).
