Open call for the Training School Mar 12 2024 - 2:06pm

The CIG IG18123 launches its Training School (TS) call, which is open from 11-24 March 2024. The aim of the TS is to develop skills and capacities and contribute to a high quality training of future generations of European researchers in the field of family support from an evidence-based and pluralistic approach.

The topic of the TS quality family support and research for social impact. The location and duration will be Faro, Portugal, 4-5 July 2024.

Since November 2023, EurofamNet is operating under a COST Innovators Grant (IG18123), a highly competitive European project funded by the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST). The QA[4]EuroFam project is aimed at implementing a quality assurance protocol in family support services in 22 European countries, in order to develop evidence-based and culturally sensitive models for professional practice.

Between May 2019 and September 2023 the Network was funded as a COST Action. A COST Action is an interdisciplinary research network that brings researchers and innovators together to investigate a topic of their choice for four years. The main formal structure of a COST Action is the Management Committee (MC), which comprises MC members and MC substitutes from each of the participating countries.

COFACE Families Europe and the Centre for Family Studies of ODISEE University of Applied Sciences have recently launched the European Observatory on Family Policy. The Spanish Red Cross has recently published the English translation of the Interview for the Assessment of Parental Competencies (ECP-12). This instrument, developed under the collaboration of the Spanish Red Cross and the University of Seville, allows the assessment of the parental competencies of the adults responsible for the upbringing and education of children and adolescents, and is especially designed to be a useful resource for professionals involved in family support and intervention services.
