I have extensive experience as a social worker in statutory children’s services, in family support and child protection teams, prior to joining Queens University in 2010.
I have helped develop and evaluate the Building Better Futures framework for assessing and enhancing parenting capacity in child protection, working closely with social workers.
I teach and have published research on the needs and rights of children who are in care or adopted and their families, in particular adoption, kinship foster care and informal kinship care.
