Family support has been an important subject in my professional career, first as a social worker in municipal Child Welfare Services (CWS), and subsequently as a teacher and researcher in social work and child welfare. Currently I am working as a Senior Researcher at NORCE Health, Norwegian Research Center.
A few years ago, I was the leading researcher in a national study on Norwegian CWS’s family support and in-home measures. My special interest is on the double role of family support, promoting health, welfare and positive development to children and families in need, and simultaneously conveying norms and standards for parenting practice and family life.I have been engaged in family support through social work practice, education and research.
